December 05, 2012

(Sacramento) -- California State Assemblymember Holly Mitchell (D-Culver City) conducted a two day work group with CalWORKS stakeholders to examine the effectiveness of the program and to re-examine its purpose in a meaningful way. As Chair of Assembly Budget Subcommittee 1, Assemblymember Mitchell oversees budget proposals for CalWORKS as well as other programs. Assemblymember Mitchell began with a quote from economic development expert, Ernesto Sirolli which was, The first principal of aid is respect. She continued, Our goal today is to listen, to learn and from that, to shape policy.
