December 2023 Newsletter

Dear Neighbor,

I hope this letter finds you and your families doing well and that your Thanksgiving Holiday was filled with family, friends and above all, with tremendous joy!

As we enter December and segue into 2024, I wish you all a wonderful holiday season and hope that 2023 has treated you well.  From our 30th Senate District perspective, truly, it has been an eventful, and successful, several months since the legislature ended this year’s session in mid-September.

As such, I am happy to report that I was able to deliver $23 million aimed at providing direct services and infrastructure projects for our district.  These monies will fund aquatic centers, playgrounds, additional recreation space, education and child development centers as well as support services for children, youth and families throughout Senate District 30.

I also joined with my colleagues to secure additional regional funding for services to support our veterans, provide additional affordable housing, create and expand youth and adolescent services, support our libraries and provide our seniors with transportation vehicles.  In all, our district will be the beneficiary of more than $30 million of direct investment for our communities.

Legislatively, I am also proud to announce that the governor signed seven bills that I authored.

These bills, among other things, will support our law enforcement officials as well as victims of crime; provide some fundamental health protections for our Union brothers and sisters and help to support local neighborhoods and small businesses by making it easier for local governments to deal with public nuisances and graffiti issues.

Lastly, over the past several weeks I have been traversing Senate District 30 to meet with teachers, business owners and residents.  I visited schools where I saw the excellent curriculum taught in the classrooms. I also toured several businesses in the district that are producing services and goods sold locally, nationally and worldwide. It was also a pleasure meeting constituents at community events hosted by our cities. I continue to see why Senate District 30 remains the most exciting district in the State of California!

So thank very you much for taking the time to read my newsletter.  I hope that you find it both informative and enjoyable as we look forward to working together to make great things happen here in what I like to call, “The Fighting Thirtieth!”

As always, I stand ready to serve you, and encourage you to contact my offices for assistance or with questions at (562) 406-1001 or visit https://sd30.senate.ca.gov.

God Bless,

Senator Bob Archuleta, Thirtieth Senate District
Chair, Senate Military and Veterans Affairs Committee

It was my distinct honor to attend so many Veterans Day celebrations hosted by cities throughout District 30, including La Puente, Norwalk, Santa Fe Springs, Pico Rivera, Diamond Bar and Walnut. It’s always a special occasion where we can salute our heroes who fought so valiantly to protect our Nation.

I learned more about businesses in the District by touring several of them, including McMurray Stern Tech Center, a new state-of-the-art facility, in the City of Santa Fe Springs, that provides innovative technology to a variety of businesses and industries while creating local jobs. I am pleased to see so many businesses flourishing in the 30th District.

I also visited several school districts, including Rowland Unified School District, Hacienda La Puente Unified School District, Little Lake City School District and Brea Olinda Unified School District, among all our school districts who are fostering a strong scholastic environment where our students are thriving and achieving great things.
