California Governor Gavin Newsom has unveiled a 209 billion dollar budget.
The plan seeks a four percent boost in the state's general fund spending over current levels.
It boosts funding for public schools and health care programs. It also raises the threshold for low income tax breaks to people who earn up to 15 dollars an hour, which is expected to qualify an additional 400 thousand families.
The budget also includes money for housing, education, health care, the homeless epidemic and preparations for future natural disasters.
The budget also includes money for migrants and the groups that help them.
