Hello Neighbor, Let’s get counted!
Hope this email finds you well. Have you heard about the 2020 Census? I am sure by now you have received mail, phone calls or maybe passed by a billboard with information on the Census. Here is what you need to know, every 10 years, people across the country and in California fill out the Census in order to have an accurate count of all people in the United States. The Census determines California’s federal funding for important community services that help support our families and fair share of representation in California and D.C.
Now there is nothing to be afraid of, the Census is safe and secure. Information collected as part of the 2020 Census cannot be shared with or by other governmental agencies or used against you in any way. There is no citizenship question on the 2020 census, and responses are confidential and only used for statistical purposes. You can see a sample census form on the Census Bureau website: https://my2020census.gov.
So, how do you complete the Census? It is easy! I took it online in less than 10 minutes.
Every Californian can now respond to the Census online at https://my2020census.gov and by phone by calling the numbers available here. Let’s ensure all Californians are counted so we can put those resources to good use here at home!
