HIGH ABOVE DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (Feb. 9, 2018) -- Sen. Holly J. Mitchell's efforts to better know her Senate District 30 took to new heights as she received a pilot stick-on aerial tour of the home to nearly one million of her constituents as part of a California Highway Patrol training program for its Air Rescue Support Division. As a member of the Senate Public Safety Committee, Mitchell rode along with the California Highway Patrol’s Southern Division Air Operations Unit on a patrol flight to get first-hand experience on CHP air operations. During the patrol flight, Mitchell observed how pilots and flight officers communicate with patrol units to efficiently respond and handle calls in the complex freeway system that makes up Los Angeles County. CHP officials said there was no additional cost associated to this fly-along since it was part of a routine patrol. (Photos by Sen. Mitchell).
