Senator Bob Archuleta Resolution SCR 108 Designates Deputy David Piquette Memorial Highway

Sacramento, CA – Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 108 (SCR 108), authored by Senator Bob Archuleta, designates a portion of State Route 91 in Orange County as the Deputy David Piquette Memorial Highway, honoring the life, service, and sacrifice of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy David Piquette.

Deputy Piquette, a United States Marine Corps veteran and a 10-year member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, was tragically killed on July 7, 2006, in a traffic collision on State Route 91 while traveling to the Sheriff’s Academy. He was 34 years old and is survived by his wife, Shawna, and their two children.

“This memorial serves as a lasting reminder of Deputy David Piquette’s courage, discipline, and selfless dedication to public service,” said Senator Bob Archuleta. “By naming this stretch of highway in his honor, we ensure that his sacrifice and legacy will never be forgotten by the communities he served.”

SCR 108 designates the portion of State Route 91 from the Glassell Street overpass to the N. Tustin Avenue overpass as the Deputy David Piquette Memorial Highway.
