  • In recognition of a beautiful and enduring union that began when two high school sweethearts met at Montebello High School in 1963, and blossomed into 60 years of marriage rooted in love, devotion, and resilience. Ruben and Emily Valencia were married on June 19, 1965, and just six months later, Ruben was drafted to serve his country in Vietnam.
