PICO RIVERA – Senator Bob Archuleta (D-Pico Rivera) celebrated a major budget win for Senate District 32 by announcing $1,000,000 in funding for Smith Park Aquatic Center in the City of Pico Rivera. The upcoming emergency repairs and an overhaul of the boiler system that heats the pool’s waters were publicly announced during a community celebration on Thursday, October 7, 2021 alongside residents and city leaders as part of the Senator’s ongoing commitment to family recreation and education centers.

SACRAMENTO, CA – the California State Senate passed Senator Bob Archuleta’s (D-Pico Rivera) Joint Resolution No. 3, urging support for the Battleship USS Iowa Museum and National Museum of the Surface Navy Act of 2021. The joint resolution passed unanimously through both houses of the state legislature and urges the United States Congress to pass, and the President of the United States to sign, the Act, which calls for construction of the National Museum of the Surface Navy aboard the Battleship USS Iowa at the Port of Los Angeles.

SACRAMENTO – Senator Bob Archuleta (D-Pico Rivera) has announced the creation of a Senate Select Committee on Hydrogen Energy to provide an overview of the State and the progress of the hydrogen industry as California continues making use of emerging energy technology to help the State meet its clean energy goals. "Hydrogen energy will be an important part of our clean energy future, and exciting new technologies in that sector will pave the way for zero emissions vehicles and transportation in California," stated Archuleta.

Sacramento - State Senator Bob Archuleta’s (D-Pico Rivera) bill to improve the safety of illegal fireworks handling and disposal has passed the Senate, and is currently making its way through the Assembly.

Senate Bill 277, improves California’s safe handling and disposal of confiscated illegal fireworks by establishing an enforcement and disposal fund to better coordinate enforcement efforts between the State Fire Marshal and local agencies.

SACRAMENTO – Today, Senator Bob Archuleta (D-Pico Rivera), along with colleagues in both the State Senate and Assembly, submitted a formal letter to Governor Gavin Newsom applauding his efforts for enacting Executive Order N-79-20, which requires all in-state sales of new passenger cars and trucks be zero-emission by 2035, and heavy-duty vehicles by 2045. In particular, the letter highlights and applauds a critical element of the Executive Order; that it remains neutral on what technologies will be used to achieve this goal.

SB 905 has been highlighted amongst other pieces of legislation that continue California’s landmark leadership in the protection and inclusion of immigrant communities.
