December 2024 Newsletter

Dear Neighbor,

As we enjoy this holiday season and prepare to close out 2024, I want to reflect on what has been a productive year. It has been an honor to serve the constituents of the 30th Senate District, working tirelessly on your behalf both in the Capitol and across our communities in the District.

This year, my team and I dedicated ourselves to crafting legislation aimed at addressing the most pressing issues facing our district, including infrastructure improvements, public safety, education, and support for veterans. Our accomplishments would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of both my Capitol and District staff, who work diligently every day to ensure that your voices are heard and your needs are met.

In addition to our legislative work, I’ve had the privilege of meeting many of you at community events, ribbon cuttings, and local programs throughout the district. These moments remind me of the strength, resilience, and diversity of our community.

As we look ahead to the 2025 legislative session, I remain committed to fighting for policies that will improve the quality of life for all residents of the 30th District.

As always, I stand ready to serve you, and encourage you to contact my offices for assistance or with questions at (562) 406-1001 or by visiting: https://sd30.senate.ca.gov/

God bless,

Senator Bob Archuleta, Thirtieth Senate District
Chair, Senate Military and Veterans Affairs Committee
Chair, Senate Select Committee Hydrogen Energy

March for Veterans Mental Health Awareness

It was an honor to participate in the 22 Ruck March for Veterans, bringing awareness to the critical need for mental health support for veterans. Thank you to all who marched, whether it was the entire distance from Chino to Montebello or a portion of it. A special recognition to former Marine Gunnery Sergeant Gus Arenas who started the 31-mile march in memory of his friend and fellow veteran who died by suicide.

Veterans Villas Ribbon Cutting in Norwalk

It was great to attend the ribbon cutting at the City of Norwalk’s new Veterans Villas at San Antonio Drive. The new development of 60 rental homes, a third of which are dedicated to veterans who have experienced homelessness, exemplifies a profound commitment to those who have served our country.

Future of California Clean Energy

I was honored to speak at the Board of Equalization in regard to California’s Hydrogen Hub, Alliance for Renewable Clean Hydrogen Energy Systems (ARCHES), and the future of California clean energy. Collaboration is key. I am dedicated to ensuring that California will create a favorable environment for hydrogen development, and I will keep advocating for policies that remove barriers, incentivize investment, and help us achieve our shared vision for California.

Celebrating Diamond Bar School’s “Platinum” Status

In November, I joined the pep rally at Pantera Elementary in Diamond Bar in celebration of their Platinum status in the California Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program.

The CA PBIS program recognizes schools for implementing evidence-based practices to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Being selected as a Platinum School in the CA PBIS program is the highest level of recognition.

This designation signifies that the Pantera Elementary has demonstrated exceptional commitment to fostering a positive, respectful, and supportive school climate for students, staff, and families. Congratulations to Principal Lacey Lemus and her whole team on this prestigious accomplishment.

Turkey Giveaway

In November, my staff and I continued the tradition of giving back with the 30th Senate District’s Annual Turkey Giveaway, helping families in our community celebrate Thanksgiving.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible sponsors (Albertsons Arcadia Meat Department, Liberty Utilities Downey, San Gabriel Valley Water Company and Suburban Water Systems) and volunteers who made this year’s program possible. Your generosity and dedication embody the spirit of this season and remind us of the importance of community and kindness.
