Senator Bob Archuleta Celebrates Veterans Resource Center Opening Inside Pico Rivera Senior Center

PICO RIVERA, CA – Senator Bob Archuleta (D-Pico Rivera) celebrated the recent opening of a veterans resource center inside the Pico Rivera Senior Center, which will aid veterans by connecting them with provide critical services and information about state and federal education, employment, housing, health, disability and other benefits.

“As chair of the State Senate Committee on Military and Veteran Affairs, and a proud former Mayor, I applaud the City of Pico Rivera for bringing a veterans resource center into our community to serve Pico Rivera’s veterans by connecting them to vital services and information. I look forward to the expertise that long-time Veterans Service Officer (VSO) Kenneth Gonzales Jr. brings to this effort as the center’s California Department of Veterans Affairs accredited on-site Veteran Service Officer.”

The Pico Rivera Veterans Resource Center will be available inside the Pico Rivera Senior Center Monday through Thursday. The VSO will be available on-site on Mondays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., while staff and volunteers will be available Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For additional information, or to make an appointment with the VSO, call the senior center at (562) 948-4844.  

Senator Bob Archuleta currently represents the 30th Senate District, which includes portions of Los Angeles County and Orange County. He is the Chair of the Senate Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs, and a member of the Business, Professions and Economic Development Committee, Government Organization Committee, Transportation Committee, as well as the Joint Legislative Committee on Emergency Management.
