Sacramento - State Senator Bob Archuleta’s (D-Pico Rivera) bill to improve the safety of illegal fireworks handling and disposal has passed the Senate, and is currently making its way through the Assembly.

Senate Bill 277, improves California’s safe handling and disposal of confiscated illegal fireworks by establishing an enforcement and disposal fund to better coordinate enforcement efforts between the State Fire Marshal and local agencies.

SACRAMENTO – As a member of the California Armenian Legislative Caucus, I am grateful and proud that for the first time in our nation’s history, the United States has formally recognized the Armenian Genocide on its 106th anniversary.

In the California State Senate, I co-introduced Senate Resolution 29 alongside Senators Atkins, Portantino, Wilk, Borgeas, Dahle, Durazo and Hertzberg to properly acknowledge the experiences of Armenians during this historical atrocity.

I’m asking the people of the 32nd Senate District to help their neighbors by donating blood. Even as we endure through this pandemic, blood is still needed for a number of life-saving medical treatments, including for those with COVID-19.

Today Governor Gavin Newsom along with legislative leaders announced an immediate relief and stimulus package for families and businesses hit hardest by the COVID-19 recession.

The package offers $9.6 billion in assistance in the form of tax deductions, fee relief, stimulus payments, financial assistance, child care subsidies, and student aid for families and businesses who have faced devastating economic hardship because of COVID-19.
