My team and I have been hard at work shaping our legislative agenda for the upcoming 2025 session, focusing on policies that will uplift our communities and create more opportunities for all.

It has been a productive last couple of months as my fellow State Senators and I passed legislation, which was sent to Governor Newsom’s desk for his signature. I am pleased to announce the Governor signed six of my bills into law.

The legislative package reflects Senator Archuleta’s deep commitment to supporting California’s veterans, advancing clean energy solutions, public safety and addressing local mental health needs.

Sacramento, CA – Governor Gavin Newsom has signed Senate Bill 1418 into law, approving a measure, which will bring parity to the electric vehicle permitting process by streamlining the administrative approval process for hydrogen fueling stations in the same way California currently does for battery electric charging stations. Specifically, SB 1418 mandates that cities and counties must adopt an ordinance and checklist that creates an expedited, streamlined permitting process for hydrogen-fueling stations.

Pomona, CA –As part of the national celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Senator Bob Archuleta (D-Pico Rivera) proudly recognized the achievements of two outstanding educational community leaders, Provost S. Terri Gomez and Associate Professor Álvaro Huerta, for their exceptional contributions to the Cal Poly Pomona community and the people of California.

Sacramento, CA – Today, Governor Gavin Newsom signed Senate Bill 1336 into law, approving a measure to help develop a mental healthcare village in the City of Norwalk. Authored by Senator Bob Archuleta (D-Pico Rivera) and championed by Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn, SB 1336 will allow LA County to use vacant buildings on the state’s Metropolitan State Hospital campus to develop a mental healthcare village to provide housing and treatment to individuals struggling with mental illness.

Sacramento, CA – On Wednesday, August 28, on a bi-partisan 39-0 vote, the California Legislature approved a measure authored by Senator Bob Archuleta (D-Pico Rivera) and championed by Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn to allow LA County to develop a mental health community on the Metropolitan State Hospital campus to treat and house people with mental illness.
