July 2025 Newsletter

Dear Neighbor,

I hope you and your family are doing well and enjoying a safe and pleasurable summer.

As your State Senator, I remain focused on delivering results both in Sacramento and here at home in our communities. My team and I have worked diligently this legislative session, reviewing more than hundreds of bills and advancing policies aimed at improving the quality of life for residents across the 30th Senate District.

Locally, we’ve continued our strong partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to host food distributions, backpack giveaways, and support important community events such as graduations, anniversaries, ribbon cuttings, and more. We remain especially committed to assisting constituents with EDD claims, DMV issues, and providing helpful information to support our immigrant population.

Looking ahead, I will continue to prioritize critical issues including public safety, healthcare, education, housing, and veterans’ services.

Thank you for your continued trust and support. As always, I am honored to serve you.

As always, I stand ready to serve you, and encourage you to contact my office for assistance or with questions at (562) 406-1001 or visit https://sd30.senate.ca.gov/

God bless,

Senator Bob Archuleta, Thirtieth Senate District

Chair, Senate Military and Veterans Affairs Committee

Rowland Heights Community Coordinating Council Celebration

Congratulations to the Rowland Heights Community Coordinating Council on the tremendous success of its 9th Annual Community Barbecue. This well-attended event provided a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to come together in fellowship while celebrating the spirit of unity and strengthening the ties that make Rowland Heights such a vibrant community.

I extend my sincere thanks to the Rowland Water and Walnut Valley Water districts for their active participation and for providing valuable resources to residents. I also commend the Rowland Unified School District for its continued commitment to supporting local families and students.

Special recognition is also due to the many Los Angeles County departments that hosted informational booths and engaged directly with the public, ensuring that our communities remain informed, supported, and empowered.

Community-led events such as this exemplify the power of local engagement and civic pride. I am proud to support initiatives that foster collaboration and build a stronger, more resilient future for all.

I was honored to attend the 4th Annual Chingona Community Awards and Scholarship Gala, which was an inspiring evening that celebrated leadership, achievement, and empowerment.

As State Senator representing California’s 30th Senate District, I was proud to recognize this group for its unwavering commitment to advancing women’s leadership, wellness, and opportunity across Southern California.

Organizations like the Chingona Community play a vital role in shaping a more inclusive and equitable society. Through education, leadership development, and grassroots engagement, they are empowering women from all walks of life to lead with confidence and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

One Hundred Years of the Montebello Lions Club

It was a privilege to join hundreds of community members in celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Montebello Lions Club, an organization whose century-long legacy of service continues to uplift and strengthen our community.

For the past 100 years, the Montebello Lions Club has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to service through a wide range of impactful initiatives. From launching the Montebello Lions Club Charities Foundation to organizing large-scale community projects, which have left a lasting mark.

Most notably, their dedication to vision care has resulted in thousands of eye exams and eyeglass donations for those in need.

San Gabriel Valley Partnership

Thank you to the San Gabriel Valley Partnership for hosting a fantastic San Gabriel Valley Legislative Networking Reception. It was a great opportunity to connect with community leaders, business owners, and elected officials from across the region. I always value the chance to hear directly from those we serve and to collaborate on ways we can strengthen our local economy and support working families.

Looking forward to continuing the conversation and building partnerships that move the San Gabriel Valley forward.

Constituent Assistance and Resources

In light of recent reports of increased Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity within the 30th Senate District and throughout the region, it is more important than ever for residents to be informed, prepared, and protected.

My office remains committed to standing with immigrant families and ensuring that all members of our community are aware of their rights and have access to trusted legal and civil resources.

Archuleta Raises Alarm over Arrest and Detention of U.S. Citizen by ICE and CBP in the 30th Senate District

The enforcement actions have instilled alarm throughout our community. No one should live in constant fear of being wrongfully targeted. I will continue working with my Congressional colleague, U.S. Representative Linda Sánchez and my state colleagues in pressing federal agencies for accountability and justice.

“I remind the public that local law enforcement are not affiliated with ICE and CBP, and are not conducting the raids. If anyone is a victim of a crime or has any issue concerning personal safety, please call your local police or sheriff’s department.

Since the Administration’s ordering of ICE and CBP agents into communities across the nation, the 30th Senate District has seen raids in the Cities of Downey, Pico Rivera, Montebello, Santa Fe Springs and Whittier. A number of people have been detained and/or arrested at businesses, schools, on public streets, and places of worship, causing fear and outrage among the majority of the population in the district.

“The Martinez family has asked me to convey their gratitude for the outpouring of support from the public,” Senator Archuleta said.

Senator Archuleta and his staff will continue to closely monitor the situation and team with U.S. Representative Linda Sánchez and Assemblymembers Lisa Calderon and Blanca Pacheco to advocate for the immediate release of Mr. Martinez, as well as the protection of civil liberties for all residents.

Senator Archuleta’s office is acknowledged for their assistance in the release of U.S. citizen, Adrian Martinez, from ICE custody in a social media post from the Martinez family’s lawyers.
